The gate valve controls fluid flow in the installation by being fully open or fully closed. The temperature resistance of the installation's gate valves ranges from (-200°C) to (+700°C).In this way, it offers the possibility of safe use in installation systems at extreme temperatures.
Adavana manufactures gate valves from different materials, with different nominal diameters and pressures, to adapt to many installations. If you are taking care of full sealing in your installations, you can contact us and examine Adavana's quality products suitable for the sector. Thanks to our domestic and international stocks, we can supply all your valve demands in a very short time.
What is Gate Valve?
A gate valve is a type of valve that regulates the passage of fluid thanks to the disc inside. There are many types of gate valves for use in different installations. When the gate valve is selected and installed suitable for the installation and the fluid, it ensures the safety of the installation with full sealing.
Gate Valve Working Principle
A gate valve controls the flow of fluid with a slide that can be opened and closed in the vertical direction. The slider model can be one-piece or multi-piece. The working principle of this valve is based on providing the transition between two sealing rings. When the slider is opened in the upward direction, the fluid starts to pass.
While controlling the flow of fluid in gate valves, the slider is either fully open or fully closed. So it is not possible to use the slider half-open. For this reason, the use of gate valves is not recommended for fine-tuned transitions.
What Does a Gate Valve Do?
A gate valve can be used in installations where two-sided flow is required. Since the valve can be used in the fully open position, it creates an environment with low resistance to fluids; it allows them to pass easily and smoothly. Gate valves are suitable for use with liquid or gaseous fluids. Common usage types are to provide smooth passage of fluids in CO boiler outlets and electrostatic precipitator lines.
Types of Gate Valve
Many different fluids can be transported in installations. Valves that are not suitable for the content, temperature, and pressure of the fluid become damaged over time and become unable to function. As Adavana, we manufacture different types of gate valves to supply the needs of the industry. We manufacture and supply bespoke gate valves made of steel, stainless steel, aluminum, bronze, plastic, and other materials.
Gate valve types are not classified only according to the type of material from which they are produced. There are gate valve types that are classified according to their connection to the installation and their working structure.
Types of gate valves according to the connection to the installation:
- Flanged-Valve
- Weld-Mouthed Valve
- Geared Valve
Types of gate valves for drive unit:
- Geared-Boxed Gate Valve
- Electric-Gate Valve
- Flywheel-Gate Valve
- Hydraulic Gate Valve
- Pneumatic Gate Valve
For the gate valve to function smoothly and to prevent possible malfunctions, the correct type of valve should be selected. It is important to know the types of gate valves to make the correct valve selection. The types of gate valves that are widely preferred by Adavana customers are as follows:
Gate Valve
The gate valve, which is used to provide flow from both directions, is indispensable for many sectors due to its high sealing rate. It provides control of fluid flow without leaking at high pressure and temperature. Its ease of use allows for immediate intervention in sudden developing situations.
The gate valve is so functional as well as very affordable. In terms of price/performance, it has high satisfaction even in dangerous sectors such as petrochemicals. You can fill out the contact form for functional, convenient, and affordable gate valves.
API Gate Valve
API gate valve is a type of valve that is prepared suitable to the American Petroleum Institute standards and is generally used in the oil and gas industries. These valves work linearly. It prevents pressure loss. With the API gate valve, it is seen that the pressure loss is at a minimum level. Preferred by many industries, API gate valves can control bidirectional flow. In addition, the low flow resistance of these valves is another feature that makes a difference.
Bronze Gate Valve
A bronze gate valve is used in many industrial fields. It is suitable for installations where the passage of hot water, cold water, water vapor, and various gases is required. It is a manual valve operated by a handwheel. This valve model, which does not fail frequently, is easy to maintain.
Knife-Gate Valve
The knife gate valve allows the flow of fluids to be controlled by opening and closing with the knife slide located between the two sealing rings. Knife gate valves are used fully open or fully closed. Knife gate valves are generally preferred in industries with fibrous fluids. It is the most affordable solution for the safe passage of fluids in sectors such as wastewater lines and the paper industry.
Stainless Gate Valve
The stainless gate valve works without any rust in the installation, regardless of the type of fluid inside. Rusting of the valves is risky for situations that need to be intervened in the installation abruptly. If the valve has rusted at the moment when the full fluid passage should be closed, serious property damages may occur in the installation.
In order to prevent such situations, it is very important to use a stainless gate valve. Stainless gate valves are preferred by many sectors, especially the chemical sector, as they are both leak-proof and resistant to rust.
Flanged Gate Valve
Gate valve flanged model is the number one choice of many industries as an isolation valve, as it is extremely useful in fluid shut-off operations. While it is not recommended to be used in installations with sensitive flow, it is an important element for installations with dense fluids.
Forged Gate Valve
Forged gate valve is one of the important valve types that keeps the flow of fluid under control with its slide perpendicular to the fluid. Due to its structure, it is not used in sensitive fluid systems. However, it is heavily preferred in systems without sensitive fluid flow.
It is one of the most suitable valve types, especially for sectors where chemical fluids and hot water are used. It is a valve model that is highly resistant to compressed air. Due to all these features, it has created high customer satisfaction.
Geared Gate Valve
Geared gate valves can be easily placed in installations thanks to their handy body. It is a highly preferred valve type for both daily use and industrial use. The geared gate valve only has an open and close function. Therefore, it cannot determine the amount of fluid that will pass.
Geared gate valves are used in many sectors such as sewage, tap water, textile, metallurgy, energy pipeline systems, chemistry, and food. It is also seen that this valve is called a sluice valve.
Pneumatic-Actuated Gate Valve
Pneumatic actuatored gate valve allows you to automate your system and allows you to remotely control your gate valve. Thanks to its functionality and size, the pneumatic actuatored gate valve brings many advantages and makes your work much easier.
Electric-Actuated Gate Valve
Electric actuatored gate valves convert the electricity in the system into mechanical energy, enabling the gate valve to open and close. As with pneumatic valves, an electric actuatored gate valve makes the process as efficient as possible.
Weld-Mouthed Gate Valve
The weld-mouthed gate valve located between the gate valves is assembled by welding.
